Having started out as a film critic, Yorgos Krassakopoulos has been a founding member and head programmer of the Athens International Film Festival, one of the founders of the most popular and influential Greek movie website, Flix.gr, and a member of the European Parliament’s LUX Prize selection panel for several years. After collaborating with the the Thessaloniki Film Festival in various ways for many years (like moderating masterclasses or editing and contributing to published Monographs), he joined the team full time as a programmer in 2011 and in 2016 he became the Head of Programming for both the Thessaloniki Film Festival and the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, a position that he holds to this day.
